13.10 Accessibility

Accessible design benefits every audience. Use sufficient contrast, readable text, descriptive titles, and meaningful ordering. Do not rely on colour alone. Combine colour with line type, shape, position, label, or pattern where necessary.

Provide alternative text for important figures in HTML. Alt text should communicate the purpose and central pattern rather than list every decorative feature. Tables should have meaningful headings and a logical reading order.
